A reminder for every soul

كُلُّ نَفْسٍ ذَائِقَةُ الْمَوْتِ ۗ وَإِنَّمَا تُوَفَّوْنَ أُجُورَكُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ

“Every soul shall taste death. And only on the Day of Resurrection shall you be paid your wages in full.”

Qur'an 3:185 (Saheeh International)

End-to-end burial services with quiet professionalism

When a loved one passes in the Western Cape, families should not navigate mortuaries, forms, and funeral logistics alone. Al-Ansaar carries the burden — with the calm respect this amanah deserves.

Collection from hospital or mortuary

Respectful transfer of the mayyit from the facility where death occurred, with care for family dignity and facility protocols.

Death registration & documentation

Coordination of Form DHA-1663, medical certification, and the burial order (BI-14) required before any burial in South Africa.

Movement of the body

Transport between facilities, the ghusl venue, masjid for janazah salāh, and the cemetery — in line with Western Cape health regulations.

Ghusl & kafan (washing & shrouding)

Performed by trained personnel according to the Sunnah — with privacy, gender-appropriate attendants, and community standards observed.

Transport & janazah coordination

Hearse and family transport arranged; salātal-janāzah and burial scheduled without unnecessary delay, as encouraged in the Sunnah.

Qabr booking & burial

Reservation and payment of the grave, preparation of the qabr, lowering of the mayyit facing the Qiblah, and closing according to Islamic practice.

The journey we walk with your family

We serve families across the Western Cape with a process that is clear, swift, and spiritually sound — guided by the same ethic Muslim burial societies have upheld for generations.

  1. Immediate contact

Your family reaches our 24-hour line. We guide you on what to do at the bedside, mortuary, or home, and when to inform the doctor and authorities.

  2. Collection & safe custody

We collect the mayyit from the hospital, forensic pathologist, or mortuary once release is permitted — including unnatural-death cases where SAPS clearance is required.

  3. Legal registration

We assist with DHA-1663, death certificate application, and the burial order (BI-14). No burial may proceed legally until Home Affairs authorisation is in place.

  4. Ghusl, kafan & preparation

Washing and shrouding are completed. Families may request to participate where appropriate. The mayyit is prepared for janazah without undue delay.

  5. Janazah salāh & transport

We coordinate the janazah at the masjid or designated venue and provide dignified transport for the mayyit and immediate family to the cemetery.

  6. Burial at the qabristan

The grave is opened, the mayyit is laid on the right side facing the Qiblah, talqeen is recited where practised, and the qabr is closed and shaped as a simple hump — without structures prohibited in the Sunnah.

Burial at the qabristan

The grave is opened, the mayyit is laid facing the Qiblah, and the qabr is closed according to Islamic practice — with dignity and without delay.

Burial with haste, simplicity, and compassion

Muslim communities in the Western Cape — from the historic Tana Baru to maqbarahs managed by the Muslim Judicial Council — share one ethic: honour the deceased, comfort the living, and bury without extravagance.

The Prophet ﷺ taught us to hasten the funeral, avoid unnecessary display, and bury in the nearest suitable Muslim cemetery where possible. Al-Ansaar aligns every arrangement with these principles while respecting your family's circumstances and Western Cape regulations.

Choosing a qabristan — with clarity on cost

Members will be able to indicate a preferred cemetery (maqbarah) during registration. Grave fees differ significantly between municipal sections, community maqbarahs, and private Muslim cemeteries — and we will always disclose additional costs before you confirm.

Within the Western Cape we coordinate burials at maqbarahs including Mowbray, Rylands, Grassy Park, Wynberg, and other registered Muslim cemeteries — subject to availability and local regulations.
